Bax Audio Visual are pleased with their Roland XS-84H
Bax Audio Visual is a successful A/V production provider for conferences and events, based on the Central coast of NSW, Australia and servicing nationwide. They have a very busy staff of 20 employees, who cater to corporate conferences, product launches and road shows for up to 600 guests.
In late 2014 Bax A/V became one of the first production companies in the world to purchase a Roland XS-84H A/V Matrix Switcher. They needed something that could service both as a comprehensive mixer and also a matrix switcher for their triple screen displays. During their market research they initially found it prohibitively expensive to purchase a reputable product that satisfied all of their needs - until they discovered the XS-84H.
Making the Connection - The Roland XS-84H can easily accept inputs from devices as varied as Blu-Ray, Computer, iPad and Cameras. It has a scaler on every input and output and HDBaseT as an output option. Bax have used the XS-84H regularly as a presentation switcher in single screen shows and equally as a powerful matrix switcher for events that require multiple screen displays. They are happy to report that they have been very pleased with the reliability of the product and that the free iPad app has worked well offering reliable remote control with no additional control system required.
Major Upgrades - The unit has had two major software upgrades in the last year adding more useful features. Version 2 added a dissolve mode for even smoother switching, a PGM/PST mode for traditional preview/live switching and expanded audio options for the HDMI output. Version 3 added support for the XS-80H Software Editor, new video output modes, bezel compensation, still image capture, output freeze and even projector power control for Epson, Panasonic and Sony models via RS-232C or HDBaseT.
