Roland Switchers: How Solo Works with Audio Input Channels
When you solo an audio input on a Roland Video Switcher or AV Mixer, it only goes to the headphone output.
When no channels are soloed, the “solo bus” is effectively disabled, and the mix assigned to the output (Main/Master or AUX) goes to the headphone output.
As soon as you solo an audio input channel, the solo bus overrides the headphone output and only the headphone output.
Solo audio routing is fixed and cannot be changed. You cannot assign any of the other outputs to the Solo bus.
If you want to assign one or more channels and not the entire mix to an audio or video output, use the AUX audio bus instead. This is also known as a "mix-minus".
Note that the AUX audio bus is not the same as the AUX video bus, and they are independent from each other, except for the V-60HD and XS-62S. Please refer to their manuals for more information.
