FIRMWARE UPDATES

- Go to: MENU > SYSTEM > VERSION
If it is an earlier version, use this update guide:
CHOOSING CAMERAS
These guides help you choose the best type of camera for your workflow, set it up to output a compatible video resolution, and also output video without menu overlays or screen information.

VIDEO RESOLUTIONS
The P-20HD has multi-format input scalers on each input, which automatically resize the input sources to match the output resolution.
There is also an output scaler to further adjust the output resolution, as well as output size and position.
These are like worry-free inputs, allowing you to mix different source resolutions together across your inputs.
You can set the P-20HD's system output resolution by going to: MENU > VIDEO OUTPUT > MAIN OUTPUT
1080i output requires system program firmware version 1.20 or later.

- Duplicate creates a copy of your Desktop, including your Taskbar or Dock. Your mouse will appear on both screens.
- Extend creates a clean desktop, and you can move your mouse between the two.

STREAMING VIDEO
The USB Type A port on the back of the P-20HD can:
- Import still images
- Import audio clips
- Export recordings and playlists
- USB keyboard support
- Backup and restore settings
- Update the firmware
- Enable live annotation
Note that it does not output audio and video for streaming or recording, you will need a Roland switcher with USB streaming output, or an HDMI to USB Capture Device, like our UVC-01:
This device is not the same as a USB to HDMI display adapter,
those are used to add an additional display to a computer
The UVC-01 gives you free access to Roland’s AeroCaster Switcher for iPad. With this app, you can wirelessly connect and switch up to five sources (phone cameras, tablet cameras, laptop webcams, and laptop browser tabs), then output a combined program feed to an HDMI input on the P-20HD.

Here are some streaming guides. Some are written for the VR series models, but a P-20HD outputting to a UVC-01 is similar to the USB Streaming output on the VR series.

You can record to the SD card on the P-20HD. The recording contains all video recorded in a project.
- Your SD card should meet the following requirements.
- SDXC class
- 20 MB/s or faster write speed
- 64 GB or larger capacity
- MicroSD cards are not supported and may not work correctly using an adapter.
- If you are not sure how fast your card is, run the speed test in the P-20HD menu.
- Before you first record, format the card in the P-20HD menu.
- Cards formatted on other devices may not work correctly.
- If the P-20HD is powered on, eject the card in the menu before removing.
Newer SanDisk Ultra cards work well. Additional recommendations are available here.
The recorded project and individual clips can be exported to a SD card or USB flash drive.
MP4 file export requires system program firmware version 1.20 or later.
