V-8HD: How to Prevent Memory Presets From Recalling Default Settings
If your Mode buttons are currently set to Memory, and during production you accidentally tap a memory number button and that memory slot does not have a preset saved to it, it will recall the default settings.
*Note that not all settings are affected, complete details in the link below.
This is an example of the Mode buttons in AUX mode. To get to MEMORY mode, you simply press the Mode button 3 times:
*Note that memory numbers with saved presets are lit blue, and those without presets are unlit.
If you don't use preset memories, or only a couple presets, once you have your settings back to the way you want them, it's recommend to save your primary memory preset's settings to the rest of the 8 memory buttons to be safe.
This is done by pressing and holding the memory number button until it flashes. More info in this guide:
*Note that the V-8HD with firmware version 1.10 or later supports up to 24 preset memories when used with the iPad Remote app.
Once you have saved presets to all 8 memory numbers, adjust the following menu setting so that the input selection does not change when a preset is accidentally recalled:
- Menu > Preset Memory > Load Parameter > Video Crosspoint > Off
*Note that when this is on, the inputs selected for the A and B row buttons are recalled.
If you do not use the preset memories during production, press the Mode button so those memory buttons are in AUX mode, noting the LED to indicate which of the 4 modes it is on:
Or, if you don't want to use the memory buttons at all, you can enable Panel Lock for them in the System Menu:
- Menu > System > Panel Lock > Memory SW > On
*Note that the other modes that share those buttons have their own panel lock settings: AUX SW, PINP 1 SOURCE SW, and PINP 2 SOURCE SW
