V-1200HD: How to Route HDMI Inputs 3 and 4 to Multi-View 1
This guide walks you through a way to route HDMI inputs 3 and 4 to Multi-View 1. The reason they are separate is they are multi-format inputs primarily intended for the 444 M/E in either Matrix or 1 M/E modes, which is viewed on Multi-View 2.
For general information on how to set up the Multi-Views, please see this article:
In this example, I have 1 M/E and four Compositions, C1 through C4.
For this, I will give up C3 and C4 as PIP/Graphics layers, and instead use them to map HDMI 3 and 4 to spare SDI outputs that can be added to Multi-View 1.
I assigned HDMI 3 to C3 and HDMI 4 to C4:
Next, I adjust Patchbay 1. I'm reserving C3 and C4 to be directly mapped to B5/SDI OUT 5 and B6/SDI OUT 6.
This means I won't use these Compositions for graphics, it's just to help pass HDMI inputs 3 and 4 to Multi-View 1:
Then, in Multi-View 1, I add SDI OUT 5 and 6:
I can also rename these SDI outputs to HDMI 3 and 4 in the LABEL menu:
Note that no cables or physical routing is done here, you are simply turning two outputs into inputs that will display on the multi-view.
