M-200i: Using Direct Outs

Direct outs can be used to send audio out of a channel direct to a destination. This is useful when sending audio to a broadcast console or M-48 personal mixers.

Note: In order for input channel's mute buttons to not mute the assigned direct outs, this will need to be disengaged in the system settings:

  1. Be sure that an iPad is not connected wired or wirelessly to the M-200i.
  2. In the top panel’s DISPLAY section, press [SETUP].
  3. At the SETUP screen, select “SYSTEM“ and press [ENTER].
  4. Select "CH-MUTE OPTION" and press [ENTER].
  5. Select "Mutes DIRECT OUTS" and set this to OFF.
  6. Press EXIT to return to the main screen.

ASSIGNING DIRECT OUTS

  1. In the top panel’s DISPLAY section, press [SETUP].
  2. Select "PATCHBAY" and then press [ENTER].
  3. Select “OUTPUT PATCHBAY“ and press [ENTER].
  4. Select the desired output and press [ENTER].
  5. Cursor down past the AUX and MTX until the input channels appear (e.g. CH:1, CH:2, etc). These are the DIRECT OUTs for those input channels.
  6. Press [ENTER] to select a desired input channel's DIRECT OUT.
  7. Press [EXIT] and repeat these steps for additional input channels.

ASSIGNING DIRECT OUTS POINTS

  1. In the LAYER section, press [CH1-16] or [CH17-32] to assign the input channels to the fader module section.
  2. In the fader module section, press [SEL] to select the desired input channel.
  3. In the CHANNEL EDIT section, press [EDIT].
  4. Press [FUNC] to access the CHANNEL FUNCTION screen.
  5. Move the cursor to “DIRECT OUT POINT“ and press [ENTER].
  6. Select the position from which the channel’s signal is sent as the direct out signal, then press [ENTER].
    - TOP OF CHANNEL - Take the raw signal immediately out of the preamp.
    - PRE EQ - Take the pre-EQ signal.
    - PRE FADER - Take the pre-fader signal.
    - POST FADER - Take the post-fader signal.
