AR-3000SD: How To Import Audio Files Into Phrases
The following article will guide through importing audio files into phrases.
- Format the SD or CF card
Notes:
- Formatting will erase all data on the card.
- The AR-3000SD is compatible with no larger than 32GB SD or CF cards.
- Place the SD or CF card in the AR-3000SD.
- Press MENU, turn the SELECT dial to select "4.1 Card Format" and then press the SELECT dial inward.
- Press the ENTER button twice to format the card.
- Remove the card from the AR-3000SD.
- ARE Editor Software
- Selecting the SD or CF card
- Connect the SD or CF card to a Windows computer. Note that this may require a SD/CF to USB card reader that is compatible with the computer's operating system.
- Open the ARE Editor Software. This software can be downloaded here:
https://proav.roland.com/global/support/by_product/ar-3000sd/updates_drivers/794efcb9-4a21-4c4b-a8b4-2e07e9dbc9b8/ - Click on FILE(F) and then "OPEN Card Info.(O)".
- Double-click on the SD or CF drive (labeled as "ROLAND") that's connected to the computer. This can be accomplished by select "Computer" and then look in the "Devices with Removable Storage" section.
- Double-click on the "_AR3TDRI.CNF" folder, select the "_ART3SYS.CNF" file and then click on "Open".
- Importing Audio Files to the Card
- Click on EDIT(E) and then select "File Import..."
- In the "Source File / Folder" section, click on the "refer" box, select the audio file to be imported and then click on "Open."
- In the "Target Phrase / Folder" section, click on the "refer" box and then select the "_AR3TDIR.CNF" folder so that the name is highlighted/select.
Note: Be sure to click on the "_AR3TDIR.CNF" folder so that it is selected. - In the "Phrase Number Select" section, click on the dropdown box to select the destination Phrase number that the audio file will be imported into and then click on Save
- Click on the "START" box to begin importing the audio file.
- A window will appear stating "Conversion Succeeded. Clean the Card Info?" Select "YES". Then click on the "START" box.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If an error message appears or if the "Clean the Card Info" message does not appear, repeat steps 1 through 5 above. - The Phrase will populate on the phrase list like shown here:
- If additional functions will be programmed onto the card, such as Programmable Timing, Phrase Settings, etc, this can now be done.
- If no additional functions are needed, close the ARE Editing Software.
- Properly eject the the SD or CF card from Windows before physically disconnecting it from the computer.

The SD or CF card can now be placed into the AR-3000SD.
