Using SRT Streaming on the V-80HD, VR-6HD, VR-120HD, and SR-20HD
SRT streaming can be used for full 1080 low latency direct streams. This can be used within our Roland Switchers such as the V-80HD, VR-6HD, VR-120HD, and SR-20HD. They also can connect with third party users like Vmix, Epiphan Pearl devices, OBS, and any other streaming platform that supports SRT.
Here are the steps for connecting your SRT Setup from a Roland Video Switcher.
For SRT-IN (Caller):
You will need the listener's IPv4 Address as well as the local port number.
- Under Menu > Video Player / SRT In, and ensure that it is selected to "SRT In"
- Go to "SRT In View"
- Set your mode to "Caller"
- Enter in the listeners Ipv4 under "Remote IP Address"
- Enter the connecting port number
- Set your latency (you will want to add more latency if your bandwidth is not as strong. Strong bandwidth can be as low as 80ms)
- Start your SRT stream (ensure that the listener is streaming as well)
- Go to Menu > Video Assign, and set one of your camera inputs to "SRT In"
For SRT-IN (Listener):
- Under Menu > Video Player / SRT In, and ensure that it is selected to "SRT In"
- Go to "SRT In View"
- Set your mode to "Listener" and you have the same port number as the caller
- Set your latency (you will want to add more latency if your bandwidth is not as strong. Strong bandwidth can be as low as 80ms)
- Start your SRT stream (ensure that the caller is streaming as well)
