S-4000: Troubleshooting S-4000 RCS Software Issues
This article troubleshoots in the event that the S-4000 RCS software is having issues such as freezing, not opening or not connecting:
- Be sure that the latest version RCS software is being used:
https://proav.roland.com/global/products/s-4000m/downloads/ - Be sure that the USB to Serial converter cable is 100% compatible with the version of Windows or Mac being used.
- If a USB 3.0 port is being used, it's also good to make sure that the converter cable is compatible with the USB 3.0.
- If possible, test with a different USB to Serial cable is available that's compatible with the version of Windows of Mac being used--either a different model number cable or a different manufacturer's cable.
This type of issue generally points to a compatibility issue with the USB to Serial converter and the computer operating system--so it may be necessary to contact the converter adapter cable manufacturer regarding compatibility.
