It's important to keep your V-1200HDR up to date on it's firmware. Periodically there are releases that optimize your unit or unlock features. We recommend you check the Roland website download sections for the V-1200HDR as frequently as you'd like to stay up to date.

Here are the steps to check your version:

1. Connect the V-1200HDR to the V-1200HD using a LAN cable.
   When communication is established between the V-1200HDR and the V-1200HD, the LINK indicator on the top panel lights up.
   
   
2. You can check the version of the system program by going to the ROOT MENU screen and selecting CONTROL SURFACE <SETUP> -> "VERSION."
   
   This will display the current firmware that you have installed.
   
   

**NOTE** Don't perform the update if the product is already up-to-date.
