S-4000 - I tried using a Netgear GS-105 gigabit switch to create a split in my S4000 digital snake. It didn't work at all. But when I used a Linksys gigabit switch, it worked just fine. Do only some brands work with the digital snake?

The Netgear's failure to comply was likely because that model does not support MDI/MDI-X, which an auto-sensing protocol that allow switches to manage data over standard and crossover cables at the same time. Your Linksys likely supports MDI/MDI-X. When you are shopping for a gigabit switch for your S4000 digital snake, be sure to verify that the switch supports MDI/MDI-X. You may also want to select a switch that supports the robust EtherCon connectors to match the components on your digital snake.
