VM-3100PRO, Studio Package, RPC-1: Studio Package Setup

Use the following steps to reset the VM-3100Pro to factory defaults using default configurations, and to verify settings in the RPC-1 control panel:

PHASE ONE
1. Press LEVEL/METER to display the main menu.

2. Press SYSTEM.

3. Press F1-F4 ON/OFF to call up hidden submenu.

4. Press F4 [INIT] to display "SYSTEM INIT" parameters.

5. Use the VALUE dial to place a check mark in all the boxes.

6. Press ENTER/YES to display "Initialize. Are You SURE?"

7. Press ENTER/YES to display "Initialize. Really SURE?"

8. Press ENTER/YES to display "RMDB-2 Checking . . ."followed by "RMDB-2 Locked".

9. Press LEVEL/METER to return to the main menu.

PHASE TWO
1. Press and hold SHIFT.

2. Press F1. Display will now display "Load Logic Configuration?". Use F2 if you are using Cakewalk software or F3 for Cubase.

3. Press ENTER/YES.

4. When operation is complete, press LEVEL/METER to return to the main menu.

5. Press AUDIO CH until it is green.

6. Raise channel faders 1-8 all the way up, all the way down, then back up to 0dB.

7. Press SELECT on CH 14, then turn V1 knob to set PAN to full right.

8. Press SELECT on CH 13, then turn V1 knob to set PAN to full left.

9. Press LEVEL/METER to return to the main menu.

10. Press AUDIO CH until it is red.

11. Raise channel faders 1-12 all the way up, all the way down, then back up to 0dB.

12. Press LEVEL/METER to return to the main menu.

13. If you are using a microphone that requires phantom power, press SYSTEM, then cursor to PHANTOM and turn on.

14. Press LEVEL/METER to return to the main menu.

PHASE THREE
1. On the computer, locate the RPC-1 control panel and open it.

2. Select the "Hardware Settings" tab and make sure that MASTER CLOCK is set to internal and that the sample rate is set to 44,100 Hz.

3. Select the "Patchbay Router" tab and make sure that each of the RBUS OUTs are set to "WAVOUT x/x".

4. Select the Monitor Mixer tab and raise all faders to 0 dB, set all Pans left and right respectively, and uncheck all boxes except STEREO LINK at the bottom of the window.

5. Using the scroll bar at the bottom of the Monitor Mixer window, scroll completely to the right and repeat step 4.

PHASE FOUR
Route the inputs and outputs appropriately in the DAW software that's being used. Check the software's documentation and/or online help for proper setup instructions with an audio interface (such as the RPC-1 card that the VM-3100 is connected to).
