Roland Switchers: How to Stream to Twitch with the "Use Web App" Setting
Use this guide to stream to Twitch using Roland AV mixers with Direct Streaming output, which is not the same as USB Streaming output. You can link your account using a web browser with the Roland Web App.
The following models have Direct Streaming:
- SR-20HD
- VR-6HD
- VR-120HD
AeroCaster has direct streaming, but does not use the web app.
Roland Hardware Setup
Connect your Roland AV mixer with a network cable to a Wi-Fi router with internet. Most routers will automatically assign an IP address using DHCP, so it's recommended to keep the default setting:
- SR-20HD: Menu > Network > LAN Setup > Configure > Using DHCP
- VR-6HD: Menu > Network > Configure > Using DHCP
- VR-120HD: Menu > Network > LAN Setup > Configure > Using DHCP
In the Stream menu, set one of the services to Twitch and you will see a setting called Use Web App or Use Web Application.
- SR-20HD: Menu > Stream > Service 1/2 > Twitch - Use Web App
- VR-120HD: Menu > Stream/Record > Service 1/2 Setup > Twitch
- Go back one page and select Use Web Application
You will get a short URL and QR code. Use either to access the Roland Web App page.

Roland Web App Setup
Use a computer for the initial setup. After that, you can easily use a mobile device to set up the stream.
When you first open the Web App, you will see this message.
If you are already logged into the Twitch site with the web browser you are using, it will skip this screen.
If setting up the Roland Web App with Twitch for the first time, you will see a pop-up window asking for permission to connect your account. You need to accept all the prompts to stream with your Roland AV mixer.
Click the drop-down menu to choose the server closest to you.
Note that Twitch does not support private streams at this time. All streams are public.
Sync the Hardware
Once you are ready, click the Submit to Device! button at the bottom of the Web App page.
Click OK to close the window. From there, simply start your stream on the hardware and it will appear on your Twitch page.
