HOW TO KNOW THE VERSION
Before you start, check the system program version of your XS-62S.
- Hold down [ SW MODE ] button, and switch on the power.
* Continue to hold down the [ SW MODE ] button until the version information appears on the display. - Check the version information that appears on the display.
Executing this update installs the following version. If the version you're using is older, then carry out the update.MAIN : 3.01 b000

[ Additional Functions ]
The following bugs were fixed.
- Functionality was added to enable operation of video cameras that support VISCA over IP (such as Sony video cameras), PTZOptics video cameras, and Avonic video cameras.
For information on supported video cameras, check "XS-62S Ver.3.0 Camera Remote Control Compatibility Information." - A function was added to send input via AUDIO INPUT 1 to 4 and 5/6 to the AUX-bus.
- A function was added to apply effects to audio sent to the AUX-bus.
- A function was added to enable switching off effects applied to audio sent to the AUX-bus.
- A function was added to enable settings for SDI and HDMI Output Audio to be made independently, without dependence on the VIDEO OUTPUT ASSIGN.
- JPEG has been added as an image file format that can be imported via USB flash drive.
- A function was added to save still images stored in the XS-62S to a USB flash drive.
- Commands allowing changing the values of TEST PATTERN and TEST TONE were added to the RS-232 commands.
- The supported formats for SDI input were expanded by adding 1080/60p, 1080/60i, 1080/30p, 1080/29.97p, 1080/25p, 1080/24p, 1080/23.98p, and 720/60p.
- It is now possible to change the labels for STILL 1 and 2, PGM, and PVW by using MULTI-VIEW LABEL EDIT.
- The setting unit for AUDIO DELAY was changed from "frame" to "msec."
- The CAPTURE IMAGE function can now also capture Output Video.
- For TEST TONE, output at 1 kHz on the L channel and at 400 Hz on the R channel is now possible.
- When the Audio Volume is changed on the panel, the Audio Level of the PST bus also changes in tandem.
The following bugs were fixed.
- A green line sometimes appears at the SPLIT V-CENTER boundary.
- PAN doesn't work for AUDIO PST bus.
- Other minor bugs.

[ Additional Functions ]
The following bugs were fixed.
- Functionality for operating Canon Camcorder (video cameras) has been added.
Supported Models: iVIS GX10, XF400, XF405 - Functionality for operating Panasonic PTZ remote cameras has been added.
Supported Models: AW-HE120, AW-HE130, AW-HE40, AW-HE50, AW-HE60, AW-HE65, AW-HE70, AW-HR140, AW-UE150, AW-UE70 - Seven types of effects (EFFECT PRESET settings) for audio input have been provided. Preset values can be selected for use.
- An effect on/off Menu item (parameter) has been added to the AUDIO Equalizer.
- PNG has been added as a file format that can be imported via USB flash drive.
- A setting value for making the PVW (preview) video a black screen has been added to MULTI-VIEW LAYOUT.
- A function was added to capture input video by pressing and holding the Cross-point [1] - [6] ( [PGM 1-6] / [PST 1-6] ) buttons.
- TRANSITION TIME has been provided for AUTO SCAN.
- Functionality has been added to enable AUX selection and operation of the [AUTO], [CUT], [DSK], [FREEZE], and [AUTO MIX] switches via GPI.
- Indication of "msec" (millisecond) units has been added to the delay-time setting for AUDIO DELAY.
- A mode has been added that has no automatic interlinking with AUX when PGM video is switched.
- When AUX LINKED PGM is set to "ON" and interlinking with the PGM video is not performed, pressing the currently selected AUX button enables interlinking.
- When AUX is interlinked with PGM, a label is displayed with the PGM video on the Multi-View monitor.
- A black screen is no longer interposed during SPLIT ON/OFF transitions when SYSTEM FORMAT is set to "progressive."
- The length of time that video is displayed during AUTO SCAN can now be set individually for each input channel.
- Functionality has been added for stopping the progression of AUTO SCAN by using the PGM [1] - [8] or PST [1] - [8] buttons when AUTO SCAN is on.
The following bugs were fixed.
- When some bitmap images are imported, the image is inverted.
- With some RS-232 commands, no "acknowledge" command (ACK) is returned.

- StudioTally : KY-PZ100, GY-HC900, GY-HM200, GY-HM250, GY-HM258, GY-HM660, GY-HM850, GY-HM890 - Functions for extracting a small window in PinP and for adjusting the position of the picture within the small window were added.
- A function for enabling the SPLIT CENTER separation point to be freely adjusted was added.
- An AUDIO INPUT SOLO function was added.
- A function enabling reversing the PGM/PVW positions in Multi-View was added.
- A function enabling editing of the text of Multi-View labels was added.
- A function interlinking AUX output with PGM until an AUX button is pressed was added.
- A function enabling randomization of the AUTO SCAN sequence was added.
- A function enabling AUTO SCAN TIME to be set individually for each channel was added.
- Not interposing a fade to black when a memory is loaded is now possible.
The following bugs were fixed.
- The background picture is slightly visible even when DSK KEY LEVEL is set to "0."
- The picture sometimes flickers momentarily during transitions when MIX TYPE is NAM.
- When a Mac computer is connected while the EDID setting for HDMI IN 5/6 is at "INTERNAL," audio from the Mac is not input.
- Other minor bugs.

[ Additional Functions ]
The following bugs were fixed.
- Support for remote-control functionality using XS-62S RCS was added.
- A Smart Tally function was added.
A function was added for displaying the URL of the IP address in LAN INFORMATION as a QR code(*).

* "QR code" is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE Incorporated. - When SW MODE is set to PRESET MEMORY, the current memory number is shown on the built-in display.
When this has been edited, an EDIT symbol ("*") is displayed. - A PNL INFO (QPL) was added to the RS-232 commands. A function for sending the PNL INFO automatically was also added.
- TALLY (TLY) was added to the RS-232 commands.
- A speed setting (FAST/SLOW) was provided for the camera control ZOOM function.
- When in the MATRIX mode, COMPOSITION and DSK menu items have been made hidden and uneditable.
The following bugs were fixed.
- Immediately after startup, the MENU button indicator sometimes lights up despite the menu not being displayed.
- A LAN connection is dropped when backed-up data is loaded from a USB flash drive.
- Backed-up data loaded from a USB flash drive sometimes fails to be loaded correctly.
- If the power is turned off within several seconds of importing a still image, the still image is sometimes not saved.
- TALLY-connector channel information is not applied correctly during a transition.
- The level meter shown on the multi-view monitor fails to be displayed correctly.
- When SPLIT is set to ON in the DISSOLVE mode, PST:a; commands fail to be accepted.
- CAM FOCUS remains in effect when CAM AF is set to ON.
- CAM BRIGHT remains in effect when CAM AE is set to ON.
- After a camera memory recall operation, the values of CAM AF and CAM AE cannot be acquired.
- MEMORY LOAD sometimes fails to correctly load a preset memory.
- When the power is turned off immediately after a memory save or memory delete operation, the memory data sometimes fails to be updated correctly.
- When in the PGM-PST mode, the PST audio volume sometimes fails to match PGM.
- When in the PGM-PST mode, pressing and holding the ENTER button fails to initialize the audio PVW level.
- When cross points have been locked by the panel lock, then depending on the SW MODE setting, cross-point buttons fail to be locked.
- The default values of RS-232 ON/OFF and BAUDRATE were changed.
- Other minor bugs.

* The USB Memory need to be formatted on a XS-62S.
GETTING THE UPDATE FILE
Download the file named "xs62s_sys301.zip".
The downloaded file is an archive file in ZIP format. Double-click it to expand it.
When expansion is complete, the folder xs62s_sys_v301 containing the necessary data for installation appears. Inside the folder is the file XS-62S.PRG.
Also, the xs62s_npu_1032 folder contains XS-62S_NPU.BIN.

PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE
Creating the Update USB Memory
[ System Update ]
[ NPU Update ]
* When the procedure in "How to know the version" shows that " NPU " is NPU : 1.032, the procedure in [ NPU Update ] is not required.
- Copy update file XS-62S.PRG to the root directory of a USB Memory.
- Copy NPU update file XS-62S_NPU.BIN to the root directory of a USB Memory.
* If the procedure in "How to know the version" shows that " NPU " is NPU version 1.032, copying the XS-62S_NPU.BIN file for updating NPU is not required.
[ System Update ]
- Turn XS-62S power OFF.
- Connect USB memory to XS-62S's USB MEMORY port. Turn the power on with pressing [ PGM5 ] ( Cross-point [5] upper ) + [ PGM7 ] ( Cross-point [7] upper ) + [ TAKE ] buttons.
* Continue to press and hold the button until the message "SYSTEM UPDATE" appears on the display. - Press the [ ENTER ] button. The update automatically advances.
- When the message "COMPLETE PLEASE RESTART" appears on the display, the update has finished.
Turn XS-62S power OFF.
[ NPU Update ]
* When the procedure in "How to know the version" shows that " NPU " is NPU : 1.032, the procedure in [ NPU Update ] is not required.
- Turn XS-62S power OFF.
- Connect USB memory to XS-62S's USB MEMORY port. Turn the power on with pressing [ PST5 ] ( Cross-point [5] lower ) + [ PinP ] + [ TAKE ] buttons.
* Continue to press and hold the button until the message "NPU UPDATE" appears on the display. - Press the [ ENTER ] button. The update automatically advances.
- When the message "COMPLETE PLEASE RESTART" appears on the monitor, the update has finished.
Turn XS-62S power OFF.
