VR-6HD System Program ( Ver.1.07 )
HOW TO FIND THE VERSION
Please check the current version of the system program on your VR-6HD before downloading the file.
- Press the [MENU] button to display the menu.
- Turn the [VALUE] knob to select "SYSTEM", then press the [VALUE] knob.
- Turn the [VALUE] knob to select "SYSTEM INFORMATION".
The version information is displayed.
*If the latest version is shown, no update is necessary.

Additional Functions
- A function has been added for switching the displayed language of menus and setting screens.
The setting for the displayed language can be set using the [MENU] button > SYSTEM > LANGUAGE. - A function has been added that lets you operate the VR-6HD using a numeric keyboard connected via USB.
Using the [MENU] button > REMOTE > NUMERIC KEYPAD, you can assign actions to the keys. - A function has been added for switching panel operation using the USER buttons.
Using the [MENU] button > DASHBOARD to set CATEGORY to "SYSTEM" and VALUE to "PANEL OPERATION" for a USER button assigned to either LCD ASSIGN menu item makes it possible to switch PANEL OPERATION with each press of the USER button. - The audio levels displayed on level meters are now selectable from AFL or PFL.
The settings for the level meters can be set from the [MENU] button > SYSTEM > LEVEL METER POSITION.
Functionality Improvements
- Operation has been changed so that scene memories and macros can be set to TARGET using the auto switching function's "VIDEO FOLLOWS AUDIO" mode.
- The amount of latency that differed depending on audio input channel, audio output channel, and path has been made consistent.
- Stability during streaming and recording has been improved.
- Operation has been changed to enable setting the profile of encoding during streaming or recording.
- Operation has been changed to enable setting the encoder behavior during streaming or recording.
When working with video containing much movement, such as sports or games, setting the ENCODE MODE to "MOTION" enables streaming or recording of smoother video. - A feature has been added to the audio follow function for linking the audio to the ON/OFF status of the PinP&KEY or DSK.
From the [MENU] button > AUDIO FOLLOW > AUDIO FOLLOW, set PinP&KEY 1 FOLLOW through PinP&KEY 2 FOLLOW or DSK FOLLOW to "ON" to link the ON/OFF state of each effect with the audio output. - Some menu indications were changed.
- Menu internal design and layout have been adjusted.

Additional Functions
- The color space for HDMI input can now be selected manually.
- A sampling marker function has been added to PinP & KEY and DSK.
When using chroma key, the setting for the key color can be made automatically by selecting,in the actual video, the location you want to make transparent. - At the SPLIT setting screen, a function has been added that lets you adjust parameters by touching the actual video.

- The system sometimes freezes for several minutes when the frame rate is changed.
- Files whose file extension is in upper case cannot be imported.
- When MODE is set to "INPUT SELECT," VIDEO SWITCHER button operations cannot be correctly recorded to macros.
- In rare cases, the system freezes when the system format or the ON/OFF setting for HDCP is changed.
- When a restore operation is performed using a backup file whose setting for HDCP, system format, or frame rate is different, the system hangs partway through processing.
- Captured still images sometimes cannot be saved.
- Responsiveness is poor when operating some PTZ cameras with VISCA over IP protocol.
- When executing "COPY" or "SWAP"in AUDIO PLAYER, no bank is displayed on the confirmation screen.
- At text input screens, character deletion sometimes cannot be carried out correctly.
- Some buttons remain operable when the panel lock function is set to ON.
- Picture and audio become increasingly unsynchronized over time during streaming or recording.
- AUTO MIXING has no effect with respect to AUDIO PLAYER or VIDEO PLAYER.
- When recording panel operations to a MACRO, recording cannot be ended correctly by pressing and holding the VIDEO SWITCHER button.
- Other minor bug fixes.
WHAT YOU NEED FOR THE UPDATE
- VR-6HD
- USB flash drive
*When using a USB flash drive for the first time, you must format it using the VR-6HD.
CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
- Never apply this update data to any product other than the VR-6HD. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
- Never power-off your VR-6HD while the update is in progress!
If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the VR-6HD won't be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs. - We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program.
DOWNLOADING AND UNARCHIVING THE COMPRESSED FILE
- Read the software license agreement at the bottom of the screen and select the "I agree" check box.
- Click the "Download" button to download the system program (vr6hd_sys_v107.zip).
- Unarchive the downloaded file.
- Windows :Right-click the file and select "Extract All", then click "Extract".
- Mac: Double-click the file to unzip it.
-The "vr6hd_sys_v107" folder appears.
- Connect the USB flash drive formatted with VR-6HD to your computer.
- Open the "vr6hd_sys_v107" folder, then copy "VR-6HD.PRG" to the level displayed immediately upon accessing the USB flash drive (the USB flash drive's root directory).
*DO NOT rename the file (VR-6HD.PRG) in the folder.
UPDATE PROCEDURE
- Connect the USB flash drive to the USB HOST port.
- Hold down the PinP & KEY 1 [PVW] button, [MONITOR] button, and PANEL [SETUP] button and turn on the power.
-Keep pressing and holding the three buttons until their LEDs light up. - When the display shows "SYSTEM UPDATE PRESS [ENTER]", press the [VALUE] knob.
-The update starts.
*The update takes about two minutes.
*Never power-off your VR-6HD while the update is in progress. - When the display shows "UPDATE COMPLETED PLEASE RESTART", press the [POWER] switch to turn off the power.
- Disconnect the USB flash drive from the USB HOST port.
- Turn on the power, and verify that the VR-6HD updated to the latest version.
