VR-1HD System Program (Ver.1.20)
HOW TO TELL THE VERSION
Please check the version of the system working on your VR-1HD before downloading the archive file.
- Connect a monitor to the MONITOR (MENU) connector.
The SETUP MENU appears on the monitor connected to MONITOR (MENU). - Turn on the power to the VR-1HD.
- Press [ MENU ] to invoke the MENU screen.
- Turn the [ VALUE ] knob to choose SYSTEM, and then press the [ VALUE ] knob.
- Turn the [ VALUE ] knob to select VERSION.
The version information screen appears.

Additional Function
- "MOTION" was added to the SCENE TRANSITION values.
- "BLUE 1-3" and "GREEN 1-3" were added to the KEY COLOR values.
Chroma-key composition is now possible. - "Scaling Parameter" settings were added to the KEY values.
- "KEY SW Parameter" settings were added for INPUT 1-3 and SCENE A-E.
It is now possible to set KEY to ON or OFF in synchronization with INPUT or SCENE switching. - "PbyP (Picture by Picture)" settings were added to SCENE TYPE values.

ITEMS TO PREPARE FOR THE UPDATE
Following items are required to perform the update.
- VR-1HD itself
- Computer (Windows or Mac) equipped with a USB port compliant with USB 2.0 or USB 3.0
- USB cable
* The update is carried out with the unit and the computer connected via USB.
Provide a cable suitable for connection to the computer you're using. - Video Monitor (equipped with a HDMI input connector)
- HDMI cable
CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
- Never apply this update data to any product other than the VR-1HD. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
- Never power-off your VR-1HD while the update is in progress!
If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the VR-1HD won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs. - We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
HOW TO DOWNLOAD AND EXPAND THE ARCHIVE FILE
Please open/extract the downloaded "vr1hd_sys_v120.zip" file on your computer to get the update files in the "vr1hd_sys_v120" folder.
PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE
Caution
- You must not rename the extracted files.
- Be very sure never to turn off the power to the VR-1HD while the indicator for any button from SCENE [A] to SCENE [E] is flashing in "red." Doing so creates risk of corrupting the system program or damaging the VR-1HD itself.
Please install the extracted system program files into your VR-1HD according to the following procedure.
- Using the USB cable, connect the USB STREAM port on the VR-1HD to the computer.
- Hold down the [ MENU ] button and the [ ON AIR ] button and turn on the power.
* Continue holding down the buttons until the [ BGM ] button flashes in blue. - Open the "VR-1HD" drive folder in your personal computer.
With Windows
Within My Computer (or Computer), open "VR-1HD" (or Removable Disk).With macOS / OS X
On the desktop, open the "VR-1HD" icon.
- Copy (drag and drop) the "VR-1HD.PRG" in the "vr1hd_sys_v120" folder into the root directory of the "VR-1HD" drive.
- After the copy has been completed, unmount or remove the drive on your computer.
With Windows
Right-click on the "VR-1HD" icon in My Computer (or the "Removable Disk (*:)" icon) and execute "Eject."With macOS
Drag the "VR-1HD" icon to the Trush icon in the Dock.
- Disconnect the USB cable.
The [ ON AIR ] button flashes. - Press [ ON AIR ] button to start the update process.
The flashing of the buttons from SCENE [A] to SCENE [E] indicates the progress of the update.
* Be very sure never to turn off the power to the VR-1HD while the indicator for any button from SCENE [A] to SCENE [E] is flashing in "red."
* The time that the update requires is approximately 4 minutes 30 seconds. - When the buttons from SCENE [A] to SCENE [E] all light up, the update is complete.
Turn the VR-1HD power off. - This completes the update operation. The new system program runs at the next startup.
* Startup time is longer than usual only immediately after the update. Startup requires approximately 1 minute 40 seconds. - Refer to "How to tell the version" and verify that the version has been updated.
