VR-120HD System Program ( Ver.1.07 )
HOW TO FIND THE VERSION
Please check the current version of the system program on your VR-120HD before downloading the file.
- Press the [MENU] button to display the menu.
- Turn the [VALUE] knob to select "System", then press the [VALUE] knob.
- Turn the [VALUE] knob to select "System Information".
The version information is displayed.
*If the latest version is shown, no update is necessary.

Functionality Improvements
- Tally information can now be linked to AUX, PinP&KEY, and DSK.
The status of output to the relevant video bus is reflected in the tally data when you set each parameter to "Enable" at the [MENU] button > RS-232/Tally/GPO/GPI > Tally/GPO > Tally Settings. - "Forget Learning" can now be executed separately for the adaptive noise reduction and the loudness auto gain control.

- Audio output from Phones Out stops when "Forget Learning" is executed for the adaptive noise reduction or the loudness auto gain control.
- When the system format is 720p, executing an image capture results in recording in which the image is shifted downward.
- When the system format is 720p, streamed video is shifted downward.
- When HDCP is switched ON or OFF, audio coming via HDMI input goes silent in rare instances.
- When the Type setting for Freeze is set to "Select," the "Enable" or "Disable" setting for the respective video connectors is sometimes ignored.
- Assigning "Play/Pause/Stop" for "Video Player" to a USER button sometimes results in incorrect operation.
- When the output format of any connector is 1080i, video transition effects become jerky.
- When MODE is set to "INPUT SELECT," VIDEO SWITCHER button operations cannot be correctly recorded to macros.
- Other minor bug fixes.

Functionality Improvements
- A function has been added that enables preview playback at the Import screen for Video Player.
- A function has been added to browse files recorded on the VR-120HD at the Import screen for Video Player.
- The system has been changed so that when Transition is set to "Split 1" or "Split 2", you can now directly specify the incoming video for PGM Source and PST Source at the setup screen.
- "PGM Video Player" and "PST Video Player" have been added to TALLY/GPO ASSIGN.
- "Macro Execute" and "Load Scene Memory" have been added to USER SW ASSIGN.
- The system has been changed so that you can now specify video synchronized with Input Assign as the AUX-bus source video.

- A feature has been added to the audio follow function for linking the audio to the ON/OFF status of the PinP & Key or DSK.
From the [MENU] button > Audio Follow, turn on PinP & Key 1 Follow through PinP & Key 4 Follow or DSK 1 Follow through DSK 2 Follow to link the ON/OFF state of each effect with the audio output. - A function has been added that lets you check and delete recorded video and audio files on the VR-120HD itself.
You can now view a file list, perform preview playback, and delete files from the [MENU] button > "Stream/Record" > "Jump To Setup" > "Browse" at the Video Rec or Audio Rec item on the third page. - "Stream/Record Status 1-2", "Date & Time", and "N/A" have been added to the macro function's "Input Assign" setting value for Function.
- The "Jump To Setup" feature has been added to some menu items, which allows access to a dedicated setting screen.
- A function was added that lets you operate the video fader by expression pedal when Panel Operation is set to "PGM-PST".

- The display positions and the like for items on menus have been adjusted.

- During video playback using Video Player, if the media on which the video is saved is removed, Video Player becomes inoperable.
- Still images captured using the Capture Image function sometimes cannot be saved to a USB flash drive or SD card.
- Operation is incorrect when a value of "PGM Input 1" or beyond has been set for the Tally/GPO setting.
- When a Bluetooth connection has been severed, reconnection is sometimes not possible.
- Video files of some file formats not supported by Video Player can nonetheless be imported.
- Selecting the [MENU] button → "Video Output" > "USB Out" > "USB Output Format" results in "Connection Reset" being selected.
- Other minor bug fixes.
WHAT YOU NEED FOR THE UPDATE
- VR-120HD
- USB flash drive
*When using a USB flash drive for the first time, you must format it using the VR-120HD.
CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
- Never apply this update data to any product other than the VR-120HD. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
- Never power-off your VR-120HD while the update is in progress!
If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the VR-120HD won't be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs. - We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program.
DOWNLOADING AND UNARCHIVING THE COMPRESSED FILE
- Read the software license agreement at the bottom of the screen and select the "I agree" check box.
- Click the "Download" button to download the system program (vr120hd_sys_v107.zip).
- Unarchive the downloaded file.
- Windows :Right-click the file and select "Extract All", then click "Extract".
- Mac: Double-click the file to unzip it.
-The "vr120hd_sys_v107" folder appears.
- Connect the USB flash drive formatted with VR-120HD to your computer.
- Open the "vr120hd_sys_v107" folder, then copy "VR-120HD.PRG" to the level displayed immediately upon accessing the USB flash drive (the USB flash drive's root directory).
*DO NOT rename the file (VR-120HD.PRG) in the folder.
UPDATE PROCEDURE
- Connect the USB flash drive to the USB HOST port.
- Hold down the [DSK 1 PGM] button, [DSK 2 PGM] button, and [PinP & KEY 2 PGM] button and turn on the power.
-Keep pressing and holding the three buttons until their LEDs light up. - When the display shows "SYSTEM UPDATE PRESS [ENTER]", press the [VALUE] knob.
-The update starts.
*The update takes about two minutes.
*Never power-off your VR-120HD while the update is in progress. - When the display shows "UPDATE COMPLETED PLEASE RESTART", press the [POWER] button to turn off the power.
- Disconnect the USB flash drive from the USB HOST port.
- Turn on the power, and verify that the VR-120HD updated to the latest version.
*While the first startup follows an update, update processing for the display executes. This process might make the brightness dark, but it is not a malfunction. Wait about 20 seconds until the unit starts up.
