VC-1-SC System Program Version 1.13.13

This is the software to make your VC-1-SC up-to-date.
Use the latest version of VC-1 RCS
Before you start, make sure that the version of VC-1 RCS you're using is the most recent.

How to tell the version
Please check the version of the system working on your VC-1-SC before downloading the archive file.
  1. Download and install appropriate VC-1 RCS for Windows or VC-1 RCS for Mac OS X onto your personal computer in advance.
  2. Start VC-1 RCS.
  3. Power on your VC-1-SC and connect it to the personal computer with a USB cable.
  4. Click the [ Update ] button at upper-right on VC-1 RCS to open the "Update" dialog box.
  5. Check the version number displayed in "Now Version".
* Don't perform the update if the product is already up-to-date.

  • Noise artifacts sometimes occur in the audio of SDI input when REF IN is input.
  • In rare cases, video is not input when a signal is input from the matrix switcher.

Bug Fixes
The following bugs were fixed.
  • The operations of MODE SW8 and SW9 were reversed.
  • Video drop-out occurred in rare cases during 3G-SDI input.
  • Out-of-sync delay between picture and sound occurred at some resolutions.
  • The output sync signal was lost on interruption of SDI input, even when using REF IN.

What you will need to update your VC-1-SC
  • VC-1-SC
  • A computer installed with one of the following operating systems under which VC-1 RCS is operating
    Important
    The update cannot be performed under Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 8.1.
    When updating VC-1-SC, perform the update using a computer installed with one of the following operating systems. (2015/12/07)
    • Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 10
    • Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 8
    • Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 7
    • Microsoft(R) Windows Vista(R) SP1 以上
    • Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP SP3 以上
    • Mac OS X v10.7 / OS X v10.8 / OS X v10.9 / OS X v10.10 / OS X v10.11
  • USB cable
  • VC-1 RCS for Windows or VC-1 RCS for Mac OS X

Caution when performing the update
  • Never apply this update data to any product other than the VC-1-SC. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
  • Never power-off your VC-1-SC while the update is in progress!
    If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the VC-1-SC won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.

Getting the update file
Please open/extract the downloaded " vc1sc_sys_v11313.zip " file on your computer to get the update files in the " vc1sc_sys_v11313 " folder.

Procedure for the update
Caution
  • You must not rename the extracted files.
  • Never turn off the VC-1-SC's power while the update is in progress. Otherwise the system program or the VC-1-SC itself may be destroyed.

Please install the extracted system program files into your VC-1-SC according to the following procedure.
  1. Install VC-1 RCS into a Windows PC or a Mac.
  2. Start VC-1 RCS.
  3. Power on your VC-1-SC and connect it to a Windows personal computer or a Mac computer with a USB cable.
    * When updating multiple VC-1-SC units, do not connect them to your personal computer together.
  4. Click the [ Update ] button at upper-right on VC-1 RCS to open the "Update" dialog box.
  5. Click the [ Bin File ] button to select " VC-1-SC_ALL011313.bin " in the personal computer.
    * Dragging and dropping "VC-1-SC_ALL011313.bin" into the "Update" dialog box are also available.
  6. Click the [ Update ] button.
    * It will take approximately five minutes.
  7. When "Please Reboot Device!!!" is displayed on the right of the [ Update ] button, the update is completed.
  8. Power on your VC-1-SC again.
  9. Check that "Complete." is displayed on the right of the [ Update ] button and then click [ OK ].
  10. Power off your VC-1-SC and exit VC-1 RCS to complete the update.
    * The update may fail due to a communication failure or contact failure. In such a case, click the [ Cancel ] button to close the "Update" dialog box, and then perform all the steps again from 3.
