USE THE LATEST VERSION OF V-1SDI RCS
Before you start, make sure that the version of V-1SDI RCS you're using is the most recent.
- V-1SDI RCS for Windows
- V-1SDI RCS for macOS
HOW TO TELL THE VERSION
Please check the version of the system working on your V-1SDI before downloading the archive file.
- Download and install appropriate V-1SDI RCS for Windows or V-1SDI RCS for macOS onto your personal computer in advance.
- Start V-1SDI RCS.
- Power on your V-1SDI and connect it to the personal computer with a USB cable.
- In V-1SDI RCS, click the [ V-1SDI ] button to establish a connection between the V-1SDI and the computer.
- In V-1SDI RCS, click the [ System ] button to display the system settings dialog box.
- Check SYSTEM VERSION displayed at the bottom left of the dialog box.
* Don't perform the update if the product is already up-to-date.
* Pressing and holding the [ SETUP ] button displays the SETUP menu on the monitor connected at the MULTI-VIEW connector. You can also verify the version by checking the VERSION field on the SETUP menu.

Functionality Improvement
- The audio level meter displayed on the monitor connected to the MULTI-VIEW connector was improved.

- A function for sending still images using V-1SDI RCS was added.
- A function for capturing video input via HDMI 4 and importing it as a still image was added.
- The value "PinP 1/3" was added to the "PinP" settings.
- The currently selected memory can now be reloaded when a MEMORY button is pressed.
- When in the CUT mode, the PinP inset screen can now be displayed or hidden instantly.
- RS-232 commands are now case-insensitive.
- An error is now returned if an STX is missing when using an RS-232 command.

- Connection to some devices is impossible.
- When V-1SDI RCS is used to change the memory while performing operations directly on the V-1SDI, the V-1SDI sometimes experiences a system freeze.
- Audio output via the SDI PVW connector sometimes contains noise.
- If an input cable is disconnected while the system is in FREEZE ON status, the video remains when the freeze is ended.

- When PinP 1/4, PinP 1/2, SPLIT VC, or SPLIT HC video composition is on, the CONTROL 1 and 2 values in V-1SDI RCS are not updated.
- When Audio Follow is changed using V-1SDI RCS (USB MIDI), the audio meter display on the multi-view screen is not updated.
- Audio sometimes fails to be output from SDI PGM.
Additional Function
- Remote-control functionality using V-1SDI RCS (USB MIDI) is now supported.
- Operation has been modified so that at the time when the setting of the PinP button or the SPLIT button is changed to PinP compositing while the button is lighted, an inset screen is displayed in the PGM video.
- The display shown on the INPUT STATUS screen when video of an incompatible format is input has been changed.
The following bugs were fixed.
- Audio/Video synchronization in SDI output sometimes exceeds standard values.
- The KEY GAIN (blur) effect for luminance key does not function correctly.
- Default values after executing a factory reset are incorrect.
- When a memory containing a state in which audio fade is applied using OUTPUT FADE is loaded while MEMORY PANEL LOAD is set to ON, no audio fade is applied.
- When the FREEZE button is used to freeze video while the FREEZE MODE is set to ALL, the video on the individual channels freezes at different times.
- Pressing and holding the [WIPE] button during menu display to return menu items to their default values fails to return some items to their defaults.
- Enabling SPLIT or QUAD compositing during menu display makes the indicators for the [MIX] and [CUT] buttons go dark.
- Some RS-232 commands fail to function correctly.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE YOUR V-1SDI
- V-1SDI
- A computer on which V-1SDI RCS runs
- Display monitor capable of HDMI input
- USB cable
- V-1SDI RCS for Windows or V-1SDI RCS for macOS
CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
- Never apply this update data to any product other than the V-1SDI. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
- Never power-off your V-1SDI while the update is in progress!
If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the V-1SDI won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs. - We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
GETTING THE UPDATE FILE
Please open/extract the downloaded " v1sdi_sys_v1580.zip " file on your computer to get the update files in the " v1sdi_sys_v1580 " folder.
PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE
Caution
- You must not rename the extracted files.
- Never turn off the V-1SDI's power while the update is in progress. Otherwise the system program or the V-1SDI itself may be destroyed.
Please install the extracted system program files into your V-1SDI according to the following procedure.
- Install V-1SDI RCS into a Windows PC or a Mac.
- Hold down the [ AUDIO ] button and turn on the power to the V-1SDI.
- Start V-1SDI RCS.
- Use a USB cable to connect the V-1SDI to the computer running Windows or the Macintosh.
- In the SETUP section in V-1SDI RCS, click the [ Pref ] button.
- Click the [ Update ] button in the dialog box to display the update dialog box.
- Click the [ Open Bin File ] button to select "V-1SDI_ver1580.bin" in the v1sdi_sys_v1580 folder.
- Click the [ Start Update ] button.
* The update requires about 4 minutes for Windows and about 6 minutes for macOS. - When "Update Completed." is displayed, the update is completed.
- Quit V-1SDI RCS.
- Use the [ POWER ] button to reset the power.
If the version before updating is 1.000, follow the procedure below to execute a factory reset.
* If the version before updating is 1.100 or higher, no factory reset is required.
* Please note that executing a factory reset causes all setting values and settings saved in memory up to then to be lost.
- Connect the monitor to the MULTI-VIEW connector.
- Press and hold the [ SETUP ] button (for 2 seconds or longer) to display the SETUP menu.
- Use the [DSK (up)] and [AUTO (down)] buttons to select "FACTORY RESET" (16/16).
- Move the A/B fader to the bus A end.
The message "FACTORY RESET=press [UP]" is displayed. - Press the [ DSK (up) ] button to execute the factory reset.
- Press the [ SETUP ] button to exit the SETUP menu.
