V-1HD System Program ( Ver.2.04 )
USE THE LATEST VERSION OF V-1HD RCS
Before you start, make sure that the version of V-1HD RCS you're using is the most recent.
- V-1HD RCS for Windows
- V-1HD RCS for macOS
HOW TO TELL THE VERSION
Please check the version of the system working on your V-1HD before downloading the archive file.
- Download and install appropriate V-1HD RCS for Windows or V-1HD RCS for macOS onto your personal computer in advance.
- Start V-1HD RCS.
- Power on your V-1HD and connect it to the personal computer with a USB cable.
- In V-1HD RCS, click the [ V-1HD ] button to establish a connection between the V-1HD and the computer.
- In V-1HD RCS, click the [ System ] button to display the system settings dialog box.
- Check SYSTEM VERSION displayed at the bottom left of the dialog box.
* Don't perform the update if the product is already up-to-date.
* Pressing and holding the [ TAP (BPM) ] button displays the SETUP menu on the monitor connected at the PREVIEW connector. You can also verify the version by checking the VERSION field on the SETUP menu.

- "PinP 1/3" was added to the Value settings for Compositing Effect.
- Functions for extracting a small window in PinP and for adjusting the position of the picture within the small window were added.
- A function enabling randomization of the AUTO SCAN sequence was added.
- A function enabling AUTO SCAN TIME to be set individually for each channel was added.
- A display function for an Audio Level Meter was added to the Preview Output screen.
- A function for fading audio in an Output Fade was added.
- A function was added for initializing setting values by pressing and holding the [WIPE] button at the SETUP menu.
- A Panel-Lock function was added.
- The results of PinP compositing are now displayed when PREVIEW OUT is set to "PREVIEW" and PinP is enabled.
- It is now possible to change pages by using the [MIX] and [CUT] buttons at the SETUP menu.

- A small amount of picture extraction occurs even when the amount of keying for composition effects is minimized.
- The video sometimes flickers momentarily when "MIX" is selected for a picture transition and the transition is made using a NAM effect.
- At the menu screen, settings made using the A/B Fader sometimes change in unintended ways.

- When the [ FORMAT ] switch is set to " 1080i " and 1080i video is input, the uppermost line of the output video sometimes flickers.
- The left and right phases of the test tone are reversed.

- The lighted colors of A/B bus buttons and the MULTIVIEW screen's colored border (tally) sometimes fail to switch when the A/B fader is moved from end to end.

- Changing the frame rate makes video output stop.
- When the same channel is selected for the A and B buses and the B bus is selected for PGM, the tally border display is green ( PST ).
* This was changed so that when the same channel is selected for the A Bus and the B Bus, the multi-view tally border is red ( PGM ). - When saving to MEMORY, the effect display sometimes differs from the saved content.
- Even when the setting "MEMORY PANEL LOAD = ON" has been made, the panel's volume value is loaded at startup.
- A 1080i/p connection to a Sony HDR-CX7 is now possible.

* The update is carried out with the unit and the computer connected via USB.
Provide a cable suitable for connection to the computer you're using. - V-1HD RCS for Windows or V-1HD RCS for macOS
CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
- Never apply this update data to any product other than the V-1HD. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
- Never power-off your V-1HD while the update is in progress!
If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the V-1HD won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs. - We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
GETTING THE UPDATE FILE
Please open/extract the downloaded " v1hd_sys_v204.zip " file on your computer to get the update files in the " v1hd_sys_v204 " folder.
PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE
Caution
- You must not rename the extracted files.
- Never turn off the V-1HD's power while the update is in progress. Otherwise the system program or the V-1HD itself may be destroyed.
Please install the extracted system program files into your V-1HD according to the following procedure.
- Install V-1HD RCS into a Windows PC or a Mac.
- Hold down the [ AUDIO ] button and turn on the power to the V-1HD.
- Start V-1HD RCS.
- Use a USB cable to connect the V-1HD to the computer running Windows or the Macintosh.
- Click the [ Pref ] button at the bottom left of V-1HD RCS.
- Click the [ Update ] button in the dialog box to display the update dialog box.
- Click the [ Bin File ] button to select "V-1HD_ver2040.bin" in the v1hd_sys_v204 folder.
- Click the [ Update ] button.
* The update requires about 4 minutes for Windows and about 6 minutes for macOS. - When "Update Completed" is displayed, the update is completed.
- Quit V-1HD RCS.
- The power to the V-1HD is automatically turned off. Use the [ POWER ] button to reset the power.
