V-160HD System Program ( Ver.1.15 )


HOW TO KNOW THE VERSION
Before you start, check the system program version of your V-160HD.
  1. Press the [MENU] button to display the menu.
  2. Turn the [VALUE] knob to select SYSTEM, then press the [VALUE] knob.
  3. Turn the [VALUE] knob to select VERSION.
    The version information is displayed.
* If this shows the latest version, there's no need to update your V-160HD.

  • When the system format is set at "1080i," output video is sometimes corrupted when interlaced video is input.

  • When the system format is set at "720p," the rightmost column of pixels in PGM output is displayed lowered by several pixels.
  • When the reference clock is set to "EXTERNAL," video sent from the SDI OUT connectors sometimes lacks audio.
  • When an PNG images containing transparency information (alpha) is read in, the screen's topmost row of pixels is sometimes not transparent.
  • With the camera control function, functioning is slow during ZOOM TELE (SLOW) or TELE (FAST) operation.

[ Functionality Improvements ]
  • Operation has been changed so that when AUX LINKED PGM is enabled, audio from PHONES OUT now follows the status of AUX LINK.
  • Operation has been changed so that when STILL IMAGE OUTPUT is enabled, a notification screen is now displayed while the menu is closed.
    STILL OUTPUT can be disabled by pressing the [EXIT] button at the notification screen.
  • STILL 1 to 16 and INPUT 1 to 10 have been added to TALLY/GPO ASSIGN.
    With STILL 1 to 16, information is output on whether a still images is output.
    With INPUT 1 to 10, information is output on whether the respective cross-point video is output.

The following bugs were fixed.
  • Some PTZ cameras cannot be controlled correctly.
  • When INPUT LEVEL is changed while MUTE for audio input is in the ON state, audio fails to be unmuted when MUTE is set to OFF.
  • When using DSK while the DSK MODE parameter is set to SELF KEY and the TYPE parameter is set to CHROMA, a non-transparent picture sometimes appears briefly when DSK SOURCE is switched.

The following bugs were fixed.
  • Macro data created using version 1.08 or earlier cannot be read in correctly.
  • Other minor bugs.
* When you have used the MACRO function on Ver.1.09, then after updating to version 1.10, the data sometimes cannot be read in correctly.
Before updating to version 1.10, from the MENU screen, select MACRO, then LIST EDIT, and make sure the macro setting values are all correct. Then use SAVE TO USB MEMORY to save the data to a USB flash drive.
In cases when data cannot be read in correctly after updating to version 1.10, reimporting the data saved on the USB flash drive enables the data to be used.

[ Additional Functions ]
  • FUNCTION "PinP VIEW" and "PinP CROPPING" parameters have been added to the MACRO function.
    For PinP, the position and size of the picture in the window and the aspect ratio of the window can now be controlled from the MACRO function.

  • Operation has been changed so that PinP and SPLIT images can be animated independently for each parameter using FUNCTION "PinP WINDOW" and "SPLIT POSITION" in the MACRO function.

  • When a still image is exported to a USB flash drive, the image contains noise.
  • Some camera video output at 1080/24p cannot be input via HDMI.

[ Additional Functions ]
  • EFFECTS TRANSITION SYNC has been added as an assignment for the USER buttons.
    This makes it possible to switch EFFECTS TRANSITION SYNC between enabled and disabled.
  • A setting has been added that enables USB video output to be set fixed to uncompressed (YUY2).
    The setting can be made using the unit's menu > VIDEO OUTPUT > USB OUT > OUTPUT FORMAT item.

  • The colors in incoming video sometimes change when certain equipment is connected to HDMI 1 - 6.
  • The wait specified by the set value does not take place when the MACRO function's FUNCTION parameter is set to "WAIT."
  • When a preset memory is recalled while EFFECTS TRANSITION SYNC is set to ON, items for which LOAD PARAMETER is set to OFF are sometimes loaded.

  • When repeated Bluetooth reconnections to iPad Remote are made, connection sometimes becomes impossible.
  • The picture sometimes flickers when 1080i video is input.
  • Every time the system is started, PinP and DSK do not fade out when PRESET MEMORY is switched, but only on the first attempt.
  • PinP and DSK sometimes fail to be displayed when PRESET MEMORY is switched instantly while EFFECTS TRANSITION SYNC is set to ON.
  • Camera control is not possible when the protocol is changed to JVC.

  • Version 1.0.0 of the V-160HD Remote dedicated control app for the iPad is now supported.

[ Functionality Improvements ]
  • Operation has been changed so that with AUDIO EFFECT or AUDIO EMBEDDED, whether volume level adjustment by the faders is included is now selectable. There are three selections: DRY, PRE FADER, and POST FADER.
  • Operation has been changed so that commands can be processed even when no STX is sent via Telnet.
  • Operation has been changed so that the timing with which Telnet commands are processed is now when a line feed (LF) is received.
  • The processing times during operation of the sequencer functions NEXT, PREV, and JUMP have been shortened.
  • Operation has been changed so that when the HDMI OUT 3 assignment is switched, the switching for labels, audio level meters, and the like is carried out more smoothly.
[ Bug Fixes ]
The following bugs were fixed.
  • Panel operation becomes sluggish when the QR code is displayed using LAN CONTROL or INFORMATION.
  • Output volume sometimes briefly goes to an unintended level immediately after a memory recall operation.
  • Error numbers during RS-232 communication or Telnet were not correct.
  • The PinP SAMPLING feature is nonfunctional.
  • INITIALIZE ALL for PRESET MEMORY is nonfunctional.
  • ECHO CANCELLER does not function correctly.
  • The picture is sometimes corrupted when 480p or 576p video is input via HDMI 5 though 8.
  • Other minor bugs.
 
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE
  • V-160HD
  • USB Memory
    * The USB Memory need to be formatted on a V-160HD.

CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
  • Never apply this update data to any product other than the V-160HD. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
  • Never power-off your V-160HD while the update is in progress!
    If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the V-160HD won't be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.

GETTING THE UPDATE FILE
Download the file named "v160hd_sys_v115.zip."
The downloaded file is an archive file in zip format. Right-click to select Extract All, and then follow the instructions.
After expanding the file, the folder "v160hd_sys_v115" holding the file "V-160HD.PRG" will appear.

PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE
Caution
  • You must not rename the extracted files.
  • Never turn off the V-160HD's power while the update is in progress.
Creating the Update USB Memory
  1. Copy V-160HD.PRG to the USB memory device's root directory (the level displayed immediately after opening the device).

Update Procedure
  1. Connect the USB Memory to the USB MEMORY port.
  2. Hold down the [ DSK 1 PGM ] button, the [ DSK 2 PGM ] button, and the [ PinP & KEY 2 PGM ] button and turn on the power.
    After power-up, continue holding down the depressed buttons until they light up.
  3. After a short interval, the message "SYSTEM UPDATE PRESS [ENTER]" appears on the display.
    After making sure "SYSTEM UPDATE PRESS [ENTER]" is displayed, press the [VALUE] knob.
    The update starts.
  4. When the message "UPDATE COMPLETE PLEASE RESTART" appears, the update has been completed.
    * The update operation takes about 2 minutes.
  5. After confirming that the message "UPDATE COMPLETED PLEASE RESTART" has been displayed, turn off the power.
    Detach the USB Memory from the V-160HD.

    This completes the update operation. The new system program runs at the next startup.
    Follow the procedure for verifying the version to verify that the version has been updated.
