V-1200HD System Program ( Ver.1.42 )

IMPORTANT NOTE
After updating your V-1200HD, you should also update your V-1200HDR and V-1200HD RCS.
The V-1200HD, V-1200HDR and V-1200HD RCS should have the same version.

After updating to version 1.42, it is necessary to carry out the procedure in "Returning Settings to the Factory-Default State (Factory Reset)" to return settings to their default values. Before performing the update, make a written note of the settings.
 
How to tell the version
Please check the version of the system working on your V-1200HD before downloading the archive file.
 
  1. Connect a monitor to the HDMI OUT MULTI-VIEW 2 connector.
    The setup menu appears on the monitor connected to HDMI OUT MULTI-VIEW 2.
  2. Press [ MENU ] to invoke the menu screen.
  3. Use the [DEC] [INC] buttons to choose System, and then press the [ ENTER ] button.
    The version information screen appears.
* Don't perform the update if the product is already up-to-date.

Bug Fixes
The following bugs were fixed.
  • Several samples were out of sync between audio channels.
  • In AUDIO PATCHBAY on the V-1200HDR, different channels could not be selected on dual monitors.
  • Changing FRAME RATE using PROCESSOR SETUP resulted in the display colors of INPUT HDMI 3/4 for MULTI-VIEW 2 failing to be reproduced correctly.
  • Inputting a 480i DVI signal to HDMI 3/4 disrupted the screen's aspect ratio.

Items to prepare for the update
Following items are required to perform the update.
  • V-1200HD itself
  • PC to write the updater to the USB Flash Memory
  • USB Flash Memory ( Roland's M-UF2G is recommended )
    * Memory already formatted as FAT32 using a computer
    * If the V-1200HD does not recognize the USB flash memory, try using a different USB memory.
 
How to download and expand the archive file
Download the file named "v1200hd_sys142.zip".
After expansion, v1200hd_sys_110 and v1200hd_sys_142 folders containing the data necessary for installation appear, with the file V-1200HD.PRG inside each.
 
How to update
Please install the system program "V-1200HD.PRG" to the V-1200HD by following the process below.
Important notice: Never turn the V-1200HD off during the update process, or V-1200HD won't reboot correctly any more.
* The update procedure differs depending on the version currently in use.

If Using Ver.1.08
Step 1: Run procedure [ Update to Ver.1.10 ]
Step 2: Run procedure [ Update to Ver.1.42 ]

If Using Ver.1.10 / Ver.1.15 / Ver.1.20 / Ver.1.30 / Ver.1.32 / Ver.1.40
Step 1: Run procedure [ Update to Ver.1.42 ]
 
[ Update to Ver.1.10 ]
  1. Connect a monitor to the HDMI OUT MULTI-VIEW 2 connector.
  2. Copy the update-use file ( V-1200HD.PRG ) inside the v1200hd_sys_110 folder to the root directory of the USB Flash Memory.
  3. Turn the power on while pressing [ ENTER ] and [ INC ] buttons.
    When the message "Press ENTER to execute." is displayed, the V-1200HD has entered the Update Mode.
    * It takes about one minute for this process.
  4. Connect the USB flash memory to the USB port on the front panel.
    Wait about 30 seconds for the USB flash memory to be securely recognized.
  5. Press [ ENTER ] button to start the update process.
    * The update process takes 30 minutes to finish. Be sure never to switch off the power before the operation finishes.
    * The indication shown on the display might stay unchanged for a long interval, but the update remains in progress.
    * If the message "ERROR_END" appears on the display, follow the sequence shown below to interrupt the update, then carry out the update again from "Step 3."
    1. Turn off the power to the V-1200HD.
    2. Detach the USB flash memory.
  6. When the message "Complete" is displayed, the operation has finished. (You will take about 30 minute to update.)
  7. Detach the USB flash memory.
  8. (After detaching the USB flash memory) Again hold down the [ ENTER ] button and the [ INC ] button and turn on the power.
    Wait for the message "Connect USB memory and press ENTER to execute." to appear on the monitor (time required: approx. 1 minute).
    * Do not press the [ ENTER ] button.
  9. Without performing any operation, turn off the power to the V-1200HD.

[ Update to Ver.1.42 ]

Step 1: Update the V-1200HD to Version 1.42
  1. Connect a monitor to the HDMI OUT MULTI-VIEW 2 connector.
  2. Copy the update-use file ( V-1200HD.PRG ) inside the v1200hd_sys_142 folder to the root directory of the USB Flash Memory.
  3. Turn the power on while pressing [ ENTER ] and [ INC ] buttons.
    When the message "Connect USB memory and press ENTER to execute." is displayed, the V-1200HD has entered the Update Mode.
    * It takes about one minute for this process.
  4. Connect the USB flash memory to the USB port on the front panel.
    Wait about 30 seconds for the USB flash memory to be securely recognized.
  5. Press [ ENTER ] button to start the update process.
    * The update process takes 30 minutes to finish. Be sure never to switch off the power before the operation finishes.
    * The indication shown on the display might stay unchanged for a long interval, but the update remains in progress.
    * If the message "ERROR_END" appears on the display, follow the sequence shown below to interrupt the update, then carry out the update again from "Step 3."

  9. Without performing any operation, turn off the power to the V-1200HD.
  10. Please verify the version number "1.30" with the procedure described in "How to tell the version" part of this document.

Step 2: Returning Settings to the Factory-Default State ( Factory Reset )
  1. Press the [ MENU ] button.
  2. Select "Factory Reset" and press the [ ENTER ] button.
  3. The message "Push ENTER to execute." appears. Press the [ ENTER ] button to execute the factory reset.
