Before you start, make sure that the version of V-02HD MK II Utility you're using is the most recent.

■HOW TO TELL THE VERSION
Please check the version of the system working on your V-02HD MK II before downloading the archive file.
- Connect a monitor to the PREVIEW OUT connector.
The menu appears on the monitor connected to PREVIEW OUT. - Turn on the power to the V-02HD MK II.
- Press [ MENU ] to invoke the MENU screen.
- Turn the [ VALUE ] knob to choose 14:SYSTEM, and then press the [ VALUE ] knob.
- Turn the [ VALUE ] knob to select VERSION.
The version information screen appears.
* Don't perform the update if the product is already up-to-date.

■ITEMS TO PREPARE FOR THE UPDATE
Following items are required to perform the update.
- V-02HD MK II itself
- A computer on which V-02HD MK II Utility runs
Before you start, install and set up V-02HD MK II Utility on the computer. - USB cable
- Video Monitor (equipped with a HDMI input connector)
- HDMI cable
■CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
- Never apply this update data to any product other than the V-02HD MK II.
This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products. - Never power-off your V-02HD MK II while the update is in progress!
If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the V-02HD MK II won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs. - We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program.
Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
■HOW TO DOWNLOAD AND EXPAND THE ARCHIVE FILE
Please open/extract the downloaded "v02hdmkii_sys_v106.zip" file on your computer to get the update files in the "v02hdmkii_sys_v106" folder.
■PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE
Caution
- You must not rename the extracted files.
- Be very sure never to turn off the power to the V-02HD MK II while the indicators for the [ 1 ] and [ 2 ] buttons are flashing in red.
Doing so creates risk of corrupting the system program or damaging the V-02HD MK II itself.
Please install the extracted system program files into your V-02HD MK II according to the following procedure.
- Install and set up V-02HD MK II Utility on the computer.
- Using the USB cable, connect the V-02HD MK II to the computer.
- On the V-02HD MK II, hold down the [ VFX ] button and turn on the power.
The [ VFX ] button lights up in red. - Start V-02HD MK II Utility.
- Click [ Update ] in V-02HD MK II Utility.
- Drag V-02HDMKII_ver106.bin in the v02hdmkii_sys_v106 folder to the V-02HD MK II Utility dialog box.
* Alternatively, you can also click [ Bin File ] to display the Update File dialog box, then specify V-02HDMKII_ver106.bin. - Click [ Update ] in V-02HD MK II Utility.
While the update is in progress, the indicators for the [ 1 ] and [ 2 ] buttons change from yellow to flashing in red.
If an error message is displayed while the update is in progress, click [Cancel] to quit the update.
After that, quit V-02HD MK II Utility, then carry out the update again. - When the message "Update Completed" appears in the lower portion of the V-02HD MK II Utility dialog box and the indicators for the [ 1 ] and [ 2 ] buttons light up in green, then update is complete.
- Click [ OK ] in V-02HD MK II Utility to quit V-02HD MK II Utility.
- Reset the power to the V-02HD MK II.

When updating from version 1.03 or earlier to version 1.04 or later, the computer's USB audio driver must also be updated.

- Connect the V-02HD MK II and the computer using a USB cable.
- From the Start menu, open Settings.
- In the "Find a setting" box on the "Settings" window, type in "Device Manager" to display the Device Manager.
- Go to "Sound, video and game controllers" and right-click the "Roland V-02HD MK II" item, then select "Uninstall device."
- Go to the "Action" tab and carry out "Scan for hardware changes."
