Use the latest version of V-02HD Utility
Before you start, make sure that the version of V-02HD Utility you're using is the most recent.

How to tell the version
Please check the version of the system working on your V-02HD before downloading the archive file.
- Connect a monitor to the PREVIEW OUT connector.
The menu appears on the monitor connected to PREVIEW OUT. - Turn on the power to the V-02HD.
- Press [ MENU ] to invoke the MENU screen.
- Turn the [ VALUE ] knob to choose 14:SYSTEM, and then press the [ VALUE ] knob.
- Turn the [ VALUE ] knob to select VERSION.
The version information screen appears.

The following bugs were fixed.
Additional Functions
- Remote operation via USB MIDI is now supported.
- A "SHORTCUT (INPUT SW)" item for disabling the capture function was added to the CAPTURE IMAGE menu.
When "SHORTCUT (INPUT SW)" is set to "DISABLE," no capture of input video is performed when the [ 1 ] or [ 2 ] button is pressed and held.
- Turning the [ CONTROL 1 ] or [ CONTROL 2 ] knob rapidly produces large changes.
- Operation was changed so that when EFFECTS TYPE is set to PinP, using the [ 1 ] button to swap the background video and the inset screen produces a switch with no intervening black screen.
- The maximum value for AUDIO DELAY TIME was changed to 4.0 frames.
- Millisecond (msec) indication of the AUDIO DELAY TIME value was added.
The following bugs were fixed.
- In extremely rare cases, output video is corrupt immediately after startup.
- When FLIP H is enabled for the PinP inset-screen video, the horizontal position of the picture becomes misaligned.
- Noise artifacts are sometimes present in the lowermost line of a saved still image.
- The video sometimes appears to flicker briefly when a preset memory is called up.
- Other minor bugs.
Items to prepare for the update
Following items are required to perform the update.
- V-02HD itself
- A computer on which V-02HD Utility runs
Before you start, install and set up V-02HD Utility on the computer. - USB cable
- Video Monitor (equipped with a HDMI input connector)
- HDMI cable
Caution when performing the update
- Never apply this update data to any product other than the V-02HD. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
- Never power-off your V-02HD while the update is in progress!
If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the V-02HD won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs. - We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
How to download and expand the archive file
Please open/extract the downloaded "v02hd_sys_v102.zip" file on your computer to get the update files in the "v02hd_sys_v102" folder.
Procedure for the update
Caution
- You must not rename the extracted files.
- Be very sure never to turn off the power to the V-02HD while the indicators for the [ 1 ] and [ 2 ] buttons are flashing in red. Doing so creates risk of corrupting the system program or damaging the V-02HD itself.
Please install the extracted system program files into your V-02HD according to the following procedure.
- Install and set up V-02HD Utility on the computer.
- Using the USB cable, connect the V-02HD to the computer.
- On the V-02HD, hold down the [ VFX ] button and turn on the power.
The [ VFX ] button lights up in red. - Start V-02HD Utility.
If a connection between the V-02HD and the Mac computer cannot be established
If the message "Please connect the V-02HD." is displayed and a connection between the V-02HD and the Mac cannot be established, carry out the operation described below.- Quit V02HDUTL(.app) and detach the USB cable connecting the V-02HD and the Mac.
- Go into the [Applications] - [Utilities] folder and start Audio MIDI Setup(.app).
- Select [Window] - [Show MIDI Studio] to display "MIDI Studio."
- Select "V-1SDI," then use one of the methods described below to delete "V-1SDI."
- With "V-1SDI" selected, press the [delete] key on the Mac.
- With "V-1SDI" selected, select [Edit] - [Delete].
- Quit Audio MIDI Setup.
Again carry out the operation described in "Procedure for the update."
- Click [ Update ] in V-02HD Utility.
- Drag V-02HD_ver102.bin in the v02hd_sys_v102 folder to the V-02HD Utility dialog box.
* Alternatively, you can also click [ Bin File ] to display the Update File dialog box, then specify V-02HD_ver102.bin. - Click [ Update ] in V-02HD Utility.
While the update is in progress, the indicators for the [ 1 ] and [ 2 ] buttons change from yellow to flashing in red.
If an error message is displayed while the update is in progress, click [Cancel] to quit the update.
After that, quit V-02HD Utility, then carry out the update again. - When the message "Update Completed" appears in the lower portion of the V-02HD Utility dialog box and the indicators for the [ 1 ] and [ 2 ] buttons light up in green, then update is complete.
- Click [ OK ] in V-02HD Utility to quit V-02HD Utility.
- Reset the power to the V-02HD.
