R-1000 System Update Version 1.103

This is the software to make your R-1000 up-to-date.

* Before updating, you need insert the removable storage device into the REMOVABLE STORAGE bay.

How to tell the version
Please check the version of the system working on your R-1000 before downloading the archive file.
  1. Press [ MENU ] to invoke the menu screen.
  2. Touch [ SYSTEM ] to invoke the system screen.
  3. Touch [ VERSION ] to invoke the version screen.
    The version infromation screen appears.
* Don't perform the update if the product is already up-to-date.

[Functionality Improvement]
  • The system was improved so that playback does not stop immediately if timecode quality is slightly poor during playback on SMPTE (LTC) reception.
[Bug Fixes]
The following bugs were fixed.
  • In recording on SMPTE (LTC) or MIDI (MTC) reception at a sampling rate of 96 kHz, depending on the recording-start time, the Time Reference value in the created BWF file was sometimes incorrect.
  • Project song names sometimes changed when an import operation was repeated.

  • Added the "Play Standby" mode in which, when a song is played to the end, the system automatically calls up the next song, then stops.

[Bug Fixes]
The following bugs were fixed.
  • Multiple M-48 units connected to C or D of the REAC port of R-1000 were not sometimes recognized by the V-Mixer connected to A or B of the REAC port.
  • When a song is stopped at a marker, the sound right before the marker position is played for a moment.
  • Some WAV data with a specific length could not be imported.

[Additional functions]
  • Added a function to exclude the STANDBY Button from Locked Panel Operations.

  • Added the following functions for the RS-232C control.
    - Panel operation lock/unlock: Make the setting for locking or unlocking panel operations.
    - Standby mode: Puts the R-1000 in standby mode (powered down).

  • S-4000M can be controlled from V-Mixer even when R-1000 is connected between V-Mixer and S-4000M.

[Functionality Improvement]
  • When you select a song which some WAVE files were missing, R-1000 can play the song with only existing WAVE files.
[Bug Fixes]
The following bugs were fixed.
  • R-1000 might rarely stop recording with displaying the "Media is busy. INSERT REMOVABLE STORAGE" message.
  • R-1000 could not format a 1TB hard disk drive connected to the EXTERNAL STORAGE Port.

[Additional functions]
  • Import function for multiple projects and songs is now available.
  • Added the Song Copy function.
  • The playing order of songs can be rearranged.
  • The playback-start position of a song can be translocated.
  • Added the Marker Stop function that a playback stops at next marker.
  • You can adjust a left and right balance of a sound signal sent to a monitor equipment.

[Functionality Improvements]
  • A performance improvement in disk access.
  • Reduced processing time on changing settings of the output patchbay.
  • Added the message "Processing..." on the screen when selecting a song with the [REW] / [FF] operations.
  • Improved the compatibility with USB memory devices by adjustment of access procedure.
  • Added the [<] (PREV) button for returning to the HOME screen on the MENU screen appearing by pushing the [MENU] button.
  • Added the description about REAC mode on the REAC SETUP screen.
[Bug Fixes]
The following bugs were fixed.
  • The connection was failed when M-48 was connected to the REAC C.
  • Some noise occurred on the monitoring sound when M-48 was connected to the REAC C/D.
  • Some WAV files could not be imported.
  • Some noise occurred on R-1000 when recording to both R-1000 and SONAR at the same time through the single HUB.

[Function Improvements]
  • When performing the "Manually Splitting Recorded Data" in the "Operations Possible During Recording", the recorded data until then is saved in WAV format on the removable storage device. Therefore, even if a recording had abnormal termination processing, you can use the split data as WAV format files.
    And you can restore the project by importing them to the removable storage device.

Items to prepare for the update
Following items are required to perform the update.
  • R-1000 itself
  • PC to write the updater to the USB memory key
  • USB memory key

How to download and expand the archive file
Download the file named "".
It is an archive file in zip format, please double click on the file to expand. After expanding the file, the folder "r1000_sys_v1103" holding the file "R-1000.PRG" will be appeared.

How to update
Please install the system program " R-1000.PRG " to the R-1000 by following the process below.
Important notice: Never turn the R-1000 off during the update process, or R-1000 won't reboot correctly any more.

  1. Put the "R-1000.PRG" at the root folder of the USB memory key.
  2. Reboot the R-1000 then insert the USB memory key to USB connector.
  3. Press [ MENU ] to invoke the menu screen.
  4. Touch [ SYSTEM ] to invoke the system screen.
  5. Touch [ VERSION ] to invoke the version screen.
    The version infromation screen appears.
  6. Touch [ System Update ] to start the update process. The message "Do you want to update?" is displayed for confirming what you do.
  7. Touch the [ Update ] on the display to start the update.
  8. The message "Update completed. Please reboot." indicates the completion of update process.
    After putting the R-1000 in standby mode, switch the POWER switch on the rear panel to OFF. And then switch it to ON to restart the R-1000.
