This is the software to make your AR-3000SD up-to-date.
How to tell the version
Please check the version of the system working on your AR-3000SD before downloading the archive file.
- Turn on the power.
- Press the [ MENU ] button.
The MENU indicator lights up, and the menu screen appears on the display. - Turn the [ SELECT ] dial to select "11.9 System Update."
- Press the [ ENTER ] button.
The current version is shown at "Version" on the display.

Additional Functions
- A function for detecting an abnormal state in the network or timer feature and executing an automatic reset was added.
- An "RB" command for resetting the network and timer function was added to the Telnet and RS-232C commands.
- The operation of the "PLL" and "PLR" Telnet and RS-232C commands for Dual Mono playback was improved to resemble the operation on the AR-3000R.
The following bugs were fixed.
- After repeated Telnet connections and disconnections, connection becomes impossible.
- After repeated FTP connections and disconnections within a brief interval, sometimes FTP connection becomes impossible or file names on the card are displayed completely in lower case.
- When the timing of stopping playback and of processing overlaps, the state of the Control Input terminals is sometimes not correctly updated.
- When control is performed using Direct Playback (last-in playback) while in the Dual Mono mode, BUSY/CONT is not output correctly.
- Settings during recording are not saved on the card.
- Recording shorter than 5 seconds is impossible when the recording format is MP3.

- When a playback command is received during sequential playback of multiple phrases by an RS-232C/Telnet command, processing is sometimes interrupted with no busy error generated.
- The message "Incorrect format. Format card." is sometimes displayed after establishment of an FTP connection.
- A parameter for setting busy output to ON or OFF during recording was added.

The following bugs were fixed.
- The problem in the Line Thru function in which in rare cases line input is not muted during phrase playback was corrected.
- The problem in which the AR-3000SD experiences a system lockup when level-trigger recording is ended without recording anything was corrected.
- The problem of the message "No card found. Insert a card." being displayed when a card that has not been logically formatted is inserted was corrected.
- The problem of occasional incorrect determination of the data format of MP3 files was corrected.
- The problem of failure to correctly process a Telnet control command after receiving an option command was corrected.
- Processing in the event of a time change while the timer function is in use was improved.
Before this, events near the time before the change were processed, but from ver. 1.025 and after, events near the time after the change are processed. - RS-232C/Telnet/timer control can be performed during MENU list view.

- A problem in which TELNET commands failed to be received when the timing of TELNET command sending and receiving overlapped was corrected.
- Reception processing for long TELNET commands experienced problems. The problems in TELNET command reception processing were corrected.

Functionality Improvements
- A function capable of specifying a phrase was added to RS-232C/Telnet PL and PLB commands.
- Binary control response was improved. The intended phrase number is now specifiable even when the phrase-specification setup time is shorter than the rated time.
- The following functioning was added to improve FTP response.
・A setting was added for specifying whether to perform processing for mounting for FTP at startup.
・Processing for card mounting was improved.
・Processing for FTP connection and disconnection was improved. - The ability to accomplish AR-200R phrase selection using the MIDI LINK function was added.
The following bugs were fixed.
- System lockup sometimes occurs during execution of RS-232C/Telnet editing or setting commands.
- The AES/EBU OUT setting is sometimes reset on FTP disconnection.
- A phrase of the wrong number is sometimes played after powerup with the control connector in make-contact state.
- Correct card recognitions sometimes fails after repeated FTP connection and disconnection or card insertion and ejection.
- Network cable disconnection or computer shutdown during a Telnet connection results in failure of the AR-3000SD to establish a Telnet connection thereafter.
- Programmable timer events sometimes fail to be executed.
- Updating of a saved phrase settings file sometimes fails when the data saved in the phrase settings file is inconsistent with actual phrase information.
- An error was present in the delay time of SU phrase settings output obtained by the RS-232C/Telnet PQ phrase settings request command.
- Receiving an RS-232C/Telnet settings command while dark due to display auto-off results in termination of display auto-off.
- Pattern phrases created using the AR-3000 sometimes fail to be played correctly.

Functionality Improvements
- The playback volume level for audio phrases can now be saved on a card.
- Support was added for AR-2000-compatible commands for the RS-232C interface.
- In "card copy," programmable-timer settings are now also copied.
- At the dialog box for saving MENU settings, the [ BACK ] button can also now be used to cancel saving.
- TELNET echo control was improved for greater compatibility with the AR-3000R.
The following bugs were fixed.
- In extremely rare cases, playback of RDAC H-LINEAR audio files is impossible.
- RS-232C mode parameters sometimes fail to be applied at startup.
- When saving programmable-timer information from a web browser, no-parameter events are sometimes not saved correctly.
What you will need to update your AR-3000SD
- AR-3000SD
- SD CARD or CF CARD formatted on the AR-3000SD
* Either an SD card or a CF card can be used to update the AR-3000SD. The update instructions describe the procedure when using an SD card. When using a CF card, read "CF card" in place of "SD card" in the instructions. - SD CARD reader or PC with an SD CARD slot ( Windows or Mac )
* When using a CF card, have a CF card reader on hand.
Caution when performing the update
- Never apply this update data to any product other than the AR-3000SD. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
- Never power-off your AR-3000SD while the update is in progress!
If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the AR-3000SD won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs. - We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
Getting the update file
Please open/extract the downloaded "ar3000sd_sys1033.zip" file on your computer to get the one update files named "_AR2TPHR.CNF", "_AR2TSYS.CNF" and "AR3KSD.PRG" in the "ar3000sd_sys1033" folder.
Procedure for the update
Caution
Please install the extracted system program files into your AR-3000SD according to the following procedure.
- You must not rename the extracted files.
- Never turn off the AR-3000SD's power while the update is in progress. Otherwise the system program or the AR-3000SD itself may be destroyed.

Creating the Update SD Card
Update Procedure
- Copy the update files onto the root directory of the SD Card device.
* Do not copy the "ar3000sd_sys1033" folder. - Un-mount the SD Card device through the correct procedure, then disconnect from the computer.
Update Procedure
- Insert the system-update card into the AR-3000SD.
- Press the [ MENU ] button.
The MENU indicator lights up, and the menu screen appears on the display. - Turn the [ SELECT ] dial to select " 11.9 System Update."
- Press the [ SELECT ] dial.
The display screen appears on the display. - Turn the [ SELECT ] dial to select the system-update card (SD or CF).
- Press the [ ENTER ] button.
A confirmation screen appears. - Pressing the [ ENTER ] button starts the update.
* To cancel the update, use the [ SELECT ] dial to select "No," then press the [ ENTER ] button. - When the system update finishes, the message "Completed. You may turn off." appears. Turn off the power.
Please verify the version number "1.027" with the procedure described in "How to tell the version" part of this document.
