It's important to keep your XS-82/83/84 up to date on it's firmware. Periodically there are releases that optimize your unit or unlock features. We recommend you check the Roland website download sections for the XS-82/83/84 as frequently as you'd like to stay up to date.

Here are the steps to check your version:

1. Turn off the unit
   
   
2. Hold down [OUT 1-OFF] button, and switch on the power.
   
   * Continue to hold down the [OUT 1-OFF] button until the version information appears on the display.
   
   
3. Check the version information that appears on the display.
   
   
4. Power off the unit at power it back on for normal use.

 

**NOTE** If this shows the latest version, there's no need to update your XS-82H/-83H/-84H.
