V-600UHD System Program (Ver.3.00)


HOW TO TELL THE VERSION
Please check the version of the system working on your V-600UHD before downloading the archive file.
  1. Connect a monitor to the MULTI-VIEW connector.
    The menu appears on the monitor connected to MULTI-VIEW.
  2. Turn on the power to the V-600UHD.
  3. Press [MENU] to invoke the Root Menu screen.
  4. Turn the [VALUE] knob to choose System, and then press the [VALUE] knob.
  5. Turn the [VALUE] knob to display Version.
    The version information screen appears.
* Don’t perform the update if the product is already up-to-date.

  • YCbCr 4:2:0 down sampling function added to HDMI 4K output.
    Available when the setting System menu → Processing → Format is 2160p(UHD), 2160p(DCI), 3840x2160 or 4096x2160.
    YCbCr 4:2:0 down sampling function and FHD down convert function cannot be used at the same time.
  • Added function to change the bus selection of HDMI outputs by the USER button.
    Example: You can set up USER button 1 to change HDMI output 2 from PGM to AUX output.
  • Added Composition/DSK source display to the Status Bar on the MULTI-VIEW.
    Also, the position of the Status Bar can be selected as Upper/Lower.
  • HDCP on the MULTI-VIEW output is now linked with the system setting.
  • Added detailed information on the video signal to the signal status display of the input channel.
  • Added Password for LAN command control and WebRCS function.

  • Added new “Automatic ROI” function, which uses facial recognition information from compatible Canon camcorders to control the ROI (Region of Interest) function of the V-600UHD.

  • Added network control for Canon and JVC camcorders, as well as PTZ cameras from JVC, Panasonic, PTZOptics, Avonic, and PTZ cameras that support VISCA over IP (such as SONY PTZ cameras).

  • Added settings for the Multi-View monitor output labels: Turning display on or off. Changing position, size and background transparency.

  • Added Recall Safe function that helps you recall only specified settings with memory presets.
  • Added the function to specify the memory to load during boot.
  • Added Panel Lock function to help prevent operation mistakes.

  • Fixed an issue when adjusting the ROI position with the POSITION stick when the Input Scaler Zoom was greater than 100%.

  • A function for capturing a still image from the final output video (PGM or PVW) has been added.
    Captured still images can be stored on a USB flash drive and loaded from the USB flash drive during boot.
    * Still images captured from copyright protected (HDCP) video cannot be stored on a USB flash drive.
  • The number of still images that can be loaded from a USB flash drive was increased from 2 to 8.
    You can load or capture up to 8 still images. And you can choose from 8 still images as the source for Ch.7 (STILL1) or Ch.8 (STILL2).
  • PNG has been added as a file format that can be imported via a USB flash drive.
    * The alpha channel of PNG files cannot be imported.
  • A function for freezing the final output video (PGM) has been added.
  • Support for the following output formats on HDMI outputs have been added.

    3840 x 2160/30 Hz (UHD 4K)

    * 1920 x 1080/30 Hz is available when the Down Convert for HDMI OUT 1-3 is set to “Enabled”.

  • In the Input Scaling menu, functions for adjusting ROI size to FHD and resetting parameters have been added.
  • 1k stereo test tone output has been added. (L:1k + R:1k)
  • A function for erasing individual stored MEMORY settings has been added.
  • A function for erasing imported still images and captured still images has been added.

Items to prepare for the update
Following items are required to perform the update.
  • V-600UHD itself
  • Video Monitor (equipped with a HDMI input connector)
  • HDMI cable
  • PC to write the updater to the USB Flash Memory
  • USB Flash Memory
    * If the V-600UHD does not recognize the USB flash memory, try using a different USB memory.

CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
  • Never apply this update data to any product other than the V-600UHD. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
  • Never power-off your V-600UHD while the update is in progress!
    If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the V-600UHD won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD AND EXPAND THE ARCHIVE FILE
Download the file named “v600uhd_sys_v300.zip”.
The downloaded file is an archive file in zip format.Right-click to select Extract All, and then follow the instructions.
After expanding the file, the folder “v600uhd_sys_v300” holding the files “V600UHD.PRG” and “V600UHD_NET.PRG” will be appeared.

HOW TO UPDATE
Please install the system program “V600UHD.PRG” and “V600UHD_NET.PRG” to the V-600UHD by following the process below.
* While updating the unit, have a monitor connected to the MULTI-VIEW connector.
Important notice: Never turn the V-600UHD off during the update process, or V-600UHD won’t reboot correctly any more.
 
  1. Copy the update-use file (“V600UHD.PRG” and “V600UHD_NET.PRG”) inside the v600uhd_sys_v300 folder to the root directory of the USB Flash Memory.
  2. While the power to the V-600UHD is turned off, connect the USB flash drive to the USB MEMORY port.
  3. Hold down MODE [AUX/COMPOSITION] button, MODE [DSK] button, and WIPE PATTERN [MIX] button and turn on the power.
    * Continue to hold down the buttons until “UPDATE” appears on the monitor.
  4. Pressing the [ENTER] button starts the update.
    When the update is complete, the message “Completed!” appears on the monitor.
  5. Turn off the power to the V-600UHD and detach the USB flash drive.
  6. Refer to “HOW TO TELL THE VERSION” and confirm that the version has been updated to show “3.00 b000.”
